So, I’m sure this won’t turn out exactly how I want it to but I’m still pumped!
I post my daily threads on Lucky Style Spotter and I receive the random email from them but yesterday I received an exciting surpise that from a survey I filled out they were intrigued by my survey questions (mainly regarding being recession chic/thrifty and how my style and shopping has been influenced) and they have requested a couple more pictures in the hope to be considered for an interview for a prospective photoshoot here in New York!!!
I’m trying not to get my hopes up but how awesome would it be to even be called for an interview?! What an awesome day!

Inspired
I have felt more inspired and creative in the mere 3 weeks I have lived in NY than I have in a very long time. Maybe it’s the hustle & bustle of the city, the street fairs, the street vendors, the cultural diversity, the food, and of course the city in itself.
My list of DIY to do’s so far are:
Feather/Flower Headbands/Barrettes & Pins
Learn To Sew So I Can Hem & Alter Clothes I Already Own But Don’t Wear
Do Some Tye-Dye’ing
Jewelry Making
Work On Design/Graphics/Photo Editing On This Blog
I’m sure that I will think of more. We should definitely put together a Creative DIY Brainstorming Meetup. Anyone interested??

Originally I was planning on throwing on some jeans and a slouchy sweater (due to the rainy weather) but I chucked this plan since the color red was calling me name. Grabbed my red skirt and went from there.
Today is also the first day I took my picture outside of the apartment and I have to say it felt pretty great! Even though it was taken in an alley behind my apartment..baby steps…

A Little Knitting Goodness
Today I took a little adventure through my neighborhood and came across a cart full of goodness. I bought this cute knitted hat for a $1.00 and I LOVE it! I am excited to play around with it and this is the perfect "I haven't washed my hair and I'm too lazy to fix it" days. Today it was in braids and I stuffed them into the knitted hat and it's cooling on a hot summer day.
Here is a collage I did to document this moment.

New City, New Blog, New Life
Here it goes. I have a new life via the transition from Corporate America in Nashville, TN to Aspiring Stylist/DIY'er/etc.. in New York City.
I hope to get my name & blog out there and start living the life I have always dreamed of. I have another blog zoeluluthreads.tumblr.com but I wanted to expand my blogging a bit further.
This site is a WORK IN PROGRESS so please be patient.
Much love--Lu
